Wilson Ifkaaqu Okoomealingok, Siberian Yupik, carved this lively encounter of two polar bear cubs playing from walrus ivory. Wilson inlays baleen to depict the bear’s eyes. This type of activity scene from Wilson’s Savoonga home is a familiar subject of his carvings. The duo is mounted on a fossilized walrus ivory base.
