Description
Lazy Walrus
walrus ivory, baleen inlay
1”h x 5.25” l x 1.75”w
This wonderful walrus was created by award winning Siberian Yupik Eskimo artist Alvin Aningayou. Inspired by the marine life of Saint Lawrence Island, Alvin carved this truly wonderful piece from an extrodinary piece of walrus ivory. Alvin carefully carved the surface to create the fine detail and individual character of this unique piece. The tusks are carved separately and inlaid baleen create the expressive eyes of the walrus.
Alvin's signature is carved on the bottom. Please call for more information and price or email questions to arcticspiritgallery@gmail.com.
