Master carver and scrimshaw artist Fredrick Kingeekuk, Yupik, from Savoonga, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, created this delightfully animated walrus. The walrus is expertly carved and finely detailed and is a wonderful example of Fredrick’s intricate carving technique and skill working with walrus ivory. This terrric walrus rests atop a whalebone stand. The piece is signed.
