Baleen Basket with a Spotted Seal Finial

4.25"h x 3.25"dia.
This terrific baleen basket was woven by Carl Hank, Inupiat. The basket features a wonderful little spotted seal head finial. The basket is signed Carl Hank on the bottom.
Fun fact: Spotted seals (Phoca largha) are found in the Bering Sea year round but they are also found in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas in summer.
