Dale Horne

Dale Horne is a Tsimshian carver and artist from Annette Island, Metlakatla, Alaska. Metlakatla is the only Tsimshian community and Indian reservation in Alaska.

Dale has been carving paddles, bentwood boxes and masks for over twenty years. His paddles are finely carved in cedar with stunning inlays of abalone and copper, painted in the traditional Tsimshian colors of black and red.

From an early age, Dale worked closely with Tsimshian elders to learn Northwest Coast design and sculpture. This dedication is reflected in the fine craftsmanship of his work. He is widely recognized as a Native Alaskan artist whose art is of the highest quality and an authentic representation of Tsimshian culture.
